Meeting your clinician

The person you are seeing will come and call your name when it is time for your appointment.

They will introduce themselves and lead you down the corridor to the room where they are working.

Taking a history

The clinician will offer you a seat and talk to you about why you have come in for an appointment. They will ask you questions about your health and past medical history.

Once they have taken a history they will do some tests to see how you move or to see where you are sore.

They will get you to sit or lie on the bed to provide treatment, depending on what you have discussed.

You may be asked to remove some of your clothing, but if you aren’t comfortable with this please tell the clinician. They also have gowns you can change into.

Treatment

Once the treatment is done, the clinician will make a plan with you, which may include exercises or stretches to do at home.

They will also do some more tests to see if anything has changed during the appointment

At the end of your appointment, you will be guided back out to reception, where you can make another appointment if needed.

Finishing up

You will then pay for your appointment and be ready to head home again.
