About remedial massage at Eureka Health
-
Massage at Eureka Health is part of a team approach to healthcare. Our massage therapists will listen to you and work with you to determine a plan to help reach your goals, whether they be to reduce pain and stiffness, improve movement or improve your general wellbeing. Our therapists have special interests in managing and preventing endurance athlete injuries and fatigue, general muscle aches and pains, pregnancy massage, stress and anxiety management and promoting optimal health and wellbeing.
There are a range of different massage techniques used here and firmness or pressure can vary according to your preference so let us know if you have one.
All our therapists have a provider number so you can claim through HICAPS if you have private insurance on the day of your appointment. -
Remedial Massage Therapy is a hands-on treatment aimed at assisting the body in rediscovering its natural state of balance. It does this through encouraging optimal health of muscles, the movement of joints, the release of tension in the connective tissues (fascia), the promotion of blood and lymph flow and promoting deep relaxation for your body and mind.
This is an excellent therapy that complements osteopathy, physiotherapy and exercise physiology to provide a comprehensive maintenance and prevention program to keep you fit, healthy and happy. -
We will always begin with a brief chat about why you have come for a massage, what and where your symptoms are, other health practitioners you may regularly see or have seen in the past, your daily habits and any notable injuries or chronic conditions in your medical history.
You should expect to remove some or most of your clothing except your underwear. Your privacy will always be respected and you will be draped, kept warm and comfortable throughout so you can relax as much as possible.
We offer two different remedial massage appointment types: 1 hour and 30 minutes. We recommend if you have more than one area of your body causing problems to book the 1 hour appointment first enabling enough time to assess and treat all areas.
We also offer pregnancy massage with remedial massage therapist Jesika! You can book any of our massages here.

Remedial massage appointments are either 30 or 60 minutes, and it's your choice. A 30 minute appointment suits one localised problem. A 60 minute appointment suits a more complex problem, several areas of the body, or when you want time to de-stress.

Australian remedial massage therapists must complete at least an 18 month Diploma of Remedial Massage. Our remedial massage therapist is a member of the Association of Massage Therapists.

Your massage therapist will take a case history, including your past medical history. They may assess your movement and flexibility and feel your muscles, tendons and joints. You will then receive treatment and may be given advice about posture, stretching or exercise. We can refer you to medical and other allied health providers if needed.
-
You will usually be asked to remove some items of clothing, sometimes down to your underwear. The room is always warm, and areas of your body not being treated are covered with a towel or sheet for your comfort.
-
If you have extras cover, you can claim part of the cost of your treatment. We have HICAPS, so you can claim on the spot and only pay the gap. The gap varies between insurers.
